Calvin Stuart Steeke was born in Hettinger, ND on October 4, 2007, the son of Trevor and Misty (Turbiville) Steeke. He spent his life on the farm, working hard and loving every minute of it. He lived just like a farmer should, sun up to sun down, with dirt on his face and sweat on his brow. He was the first one up to start the day and the last one to lay down to rest. Calvin's other passion was lifting up every person that crossed his path. He had a way to find a direct path to everyone's heart and change their lives.
Calvin enjoyed going to school and seeing all of his buddies whenever he had the chance. Being able to be there for the wrestlers, basketball and football players, track athletes, and FFA kids, and cheer them on, meant just as much to him as it did to the loved ones he was cheering for. He loved nothing more than to go to wrestling practice and be just like one of the big boys. His love for people exceeded his immediate family and extended into the hearts of everyone around him.
Calvin loved the farm and everything that went with it. He loved the animals, as well as the tractors. He was always busy no matter what was going on. He always had multiple projects on his mind which could range from fixing snowmobiles, breaking calves, feeding cows, farming, and anything else that needed done. Just like a true farmer, there was never a task too big for Calvin.
Calvin will always be remembered for his precious smile and go-getter attitude. He will now always be able to be with everyone. He will continue to brighten the lives of every one of us. He will be able to continue his life of farming; he will just be harvesting a much more precious crop.
Calvin is survived by his mother Misty; father Trevor; brother Colbey; sisters Abbi and Lilli; Grandparents, Jim and Sheryl Turbiville, Sharon Steeke; Great Grandparents, Harry (Jim) and Elsie Turbiville; Special Grandma, Dolly Krause; Aunts and Uncles, Trescha (Chad)(Alydia) Mitchell, Tahnee (Travis)(Tyler, Tanner, Trinity) Moe, Kelly (Tara, Colton, Tucker) Turbiville, Nevada Turbiville, Todd (Jessie, Gary, John) Steeke; God-parents, Shanna and Rob (Ashton, Ella) Hendrickson and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Grandpa, Gary Steeke; Great Grandparents, Shirley and Elaine Hanson, Herb and Lillian Steeke, and Rollo and Ruth Thompson. Calvin loved everyone with all of his heart and will be missed by everyone whose life he touched. Calvin will continue to give, as his joints, eyes, and heart were donated to families in need, which is fitting since he never slowed down. He always saw the best in every situation, and he had the biggest heart to love with. Now other families will be able to experience the Calvin we all love.
