Beverly Kay Smith, 55, of Bowman, ND passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2017 at the Southwest Healthcare Hospital in Bowman.Funeral Services for Beverly will be on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at the Bowman Lutheran Church. Pastor Mark Nygard will officiate with burial to follow in the Bowman Cemetery. Visitation for Beverly will be on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 9-9 at the Krebsbach Funeral Home Chapel and on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Church one hour prior to services. Beverly Lutes was born on April 9, 1961 in Hettinger, ND, the daughter of Ray and Beatrice (Hemmah) Lutes. Beverly was raised in the Bowman area where she received her education and graduated from Bowman High School in 1979. She was an avid track runner where she held state records for a bit and enjoyed cheerleading. In 1982, Beverly was blessed with her first child, her daughter Ashley. In 1988 she married Lenny Smith and they made their home on a farm near Gladstone, ND. To this union, two more children were born, April and Ray Smith. After Lenny's accident, Beverly moved into Gladstone where she raised her 3 children and made many longtime life friends. She was a very giving person and she never turned a friend away. She was always there in a time of need. Beverly loved taking drives in the back country just enjoying the simple things in life. Many times these ride were around the "Big Block" in the Gladstone area chasing the Northern Lights. Later Beverly moved to Bowman to be close to her grandson Paxtyn who was her pride and joy. She found pleasure in the beauty of all Gods creations. She loved to camp with her friends, fish with her grandson Paxtyn and spoiling her granddaughter Elaina. She also loved to tend to her gardens and flowers. Beverly loved to bowl and she enjoyed cooking and baking. You could stop by for a visit and she'd always have a dessert and coffee ready to be shared. Beverly is survived by her children; Ashley Strand, April Smith and Ray Smith, two grandchildren; Paxtyn Smith and Elaina Glick, her father; Ray Lutes, brothers; Dale (Diane) Lutes of Williston, ND, Leon (Cindy) Lutes of Bowman, sisters; Donna (Rick) Smith of Traverse City, MI and Valerie (David) Hendges of Traverse City, MI, sister-in-Law, Marlene Lutes of Bowman, ND and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lenny, mother, Beatrice, brother, Darrell and step mother, Pat Lutes. Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Services of Bowman in charge of the arrangements.
