Memorials suggested to:  Oreas Animal Rescue at 93 21 St. E Dickinson, ND, 58601.

Betty was born on New Years Eve 1966 to Harold "Swede" and Alda(Steiger) Berg. The youngest of 5 children with older siblings Edith, Harold Jr. "Junior", Phillip, and Theresa. Unfortunately, she never got to meet her oldest brother Junior as he was killed in Vietnam on Feb 3, 1967, ironically 58 years to the day before Betty passed away.

Betty grew up in the small town of Rhame, ND, where she graduated high school in 1985. She attended college in Wahpeton, ND before returning home to begin working full time. On April 16, 1986 Betty's first daughter, Amber Michelle, was born. Then on July 16, 1998, Betty and Amber welcomed Cianna Jo into their family. Betty worked very hard in her life, sometimes holding down 2 and 3 jobs, to provide for her family. She worked many different jobs in her life with a long stint at Cenex in Bowman. After Amber graduated high school Betty decided to go back to college at Dickinson State University to get a degree in accounting. She even had a college class with Amber, much to Amber's dismay. College, work, and raising Cianna kept Betty busy until she graduated, at which time they moved back to Bowman. She continued her employment at Cenex where she would meet her future husband, Charlie Ward, while they were both employed there. They were married on May 5, 2017(over their lunchbreak) at the courthouse in Bowman. They had a formal wedding ceremony on June 23 in her brother and sister in law, Phil and Linda's, beautiful backyard with all their family and friends attending. Following their marriage Betty and Charlie moved to Dickinson and eventually bought a place in the country north of Dickinson where she resided until her passing.

At an early age Betty's passion for animals, all kinds, was very obvious. She had a way with all animals from chickens, to horses, and especially cats and dogs. She loved traveling with Charlie to ropings and going to horse sales to see all the pretty horses. Betty loved everything about animals and she was able to finally find her dream job when she began working at West Dakota Vet Clinic in May of 2022 where she was happily employed until her death.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Swede and AldaBerg, brother Junior Berg, daughter Cianna Carlson, brother in law Gordie Aas, step sons James(JD) and Cody Ward, step grandson Tucker Ward, and her paternal and maternal grandparents.

Betty left on Earth her husband Charlie Ward of Dickinson, ND; brother Phil Berg(Linda) of Rhame, ND; sisters Edith Aas of Jasper, MN and Theresa Berg of Rhame, ND; daughter Amber Anderson(Jordan) of Rhame, ND; step son Robert Ward of San Diego, CA; grandchildren Trinity, Avaya, Ella, Jack, and Asher Anderson all of Rhame, ND; nieces and nephews Lisa Peterson(Doug), Jared Aas(Jennifer), Amanda Lardy(Ivan), PJ Berg(Lacey), Josh Berg, Alaina Berg, and Zach Berg; multiple great nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends including best friends Sandy Belle, Wanda Heick, and Lee Ann Preszler.
