Obituary

Andrew John Maychrzak
"All men die, but not all men truly live." This is a quote from one of Andrew's favorite movies, Brave Heart. While Mel Gibson used it to rally Scottish troops, Andrew used it in a much more applicable fashion. He used it to plan his day, his life. Andrew was determined to be one of those men who truly live and he more than accomplished that by his own standards.
Andrew John Maychrzak, 18, of Bowman, ND died on Tuesday July 6 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday July 9, 2010 at the Bowman United Methodist Church, Pastor Val Rush will officiate.
Andrew was born on January 19, 1992 in Hettinger, ND the son of Jack and Alberta (Lamb) Maychrzak. He was raised in Bowman, ND and received his education in the Bowman school system. Andrew graduated from Bowman County High School in May of 2010. At the time of his death, Andrew was employed at Hiatt Honey of Bowman, ND. However, throughout high school he held down several jobs.
While Andrew was in high school he participated in cross country and track. He was encouraged to participate in these extracurricular events after proving more than able in classes like P.E. and Strength and Conditioning which caught the eyes of coaches. Andrew definitely found his academic prowess when he took the classes Sociology and Psychology. He enjoyed these classes to such a great extent that he decided to attend Dickinson State University to pursue a career in Psychology.
Andrew had the most fun out of school. He made many, many friends which resulted in a busy social life. If he wasn't camping he was fishing. If he wasn't fishing he was hunting. If he wasn't hunting he was at a friend's house. If not at a friend's house he was playing with those same friends via online video games. He never truly had a dull weekend….or week for that matter.
Automobiles, the outdoors, and electronics were three of Andrew's many interests. He had dreams of fixing up and driving an old 1969 Ford Galaxy XL of his grandmother's. He has more pictures than one can count of the deer, fish, and other animals that he had hunted. He was also your friendly, neighborhood technical support. He helped on numerous occasions of people having computer problems or an electronic problem for that matter. He had a keen interest in online gaming. This is something he shared with pretty much every teenage boy in his school.
He was easily a comedian. Andrew could find a way to make someone laugh whether it be through a witty comment or a t-shirt that you couldn't help but laugh at. He had an uncanny ability to know the most random facts that happen to come in handy at the right time. He had complex and very developed beliefs and ideals that perhaps, with the accompaniment of everything else, helped outline and define the shining and one-of-a-kind personality that we will all miss.
Andrew was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Lydia Maychrzak; his maternal grandparents Ainslee and Hattie (Pratt) Lamb. Survivors include his parents Jack and Alberta Maychrzak; one sister, Louise (Donald) Wojahn; one brother, Ainslee Maychrzak, all of Bowman; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
