Alethe Kuchera, 91, of Bowman ND, formerly of Buffalo SD, died on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at the SWHC Hospital in Bowman.
In attendance was her daughter Clee Raye and her granddaughters; Cosha, Lucy, Melissa, Bobbie, and Elizabeth.
Funeral Services for Alethe will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 16, 2009 at the Buffalo Congregational Church, Buffalo SD. Pastor Jean Helmer will officiate with burial to follow in the Buffalo Cemetery.
Alethe Kuchera was born on December 16, 1917 in Buffalo SD, the daughter of Walter and Stella Boylan-Horrell. She attended grade school and High school in Buffalo.
Alethe married Roman Kuchera on July 1, 1940. They owned and operated a dairy for 20 plus years. Throughout the years Alethe worked as a dish washer and waitress in various cafes. She also sold items of advertising to local businesses. She loved driving around and seeing the country and meeting new people. She enjoyed having her grandchildren and daughter stay overnight with her. She loved having company and playing cards. When she was not able to stay by herself any longer she moved to Bowman and lived with her daughter Clee Raye and family. With declining health, she was admitted for a short time into the SWHC-LTC.
Alethe was a member of Eastern Star for over 50 years, she was a past matron, and a member of Royal Neighbors. She participated in Birthday Club, Bible Study and various other clubs. She was a lifelong member of the Buffalo Congregational Church. She enjoyed playing the piano and painting pictures.
Alethe is survived by her daughters: Gloria Agee of Cleveland, TX., Cindy Kucera and husband Stuart Darby of Watauga, TX, Clee Raye Olsen and husband Bobby of Bowman ND, and Kandy K Britton and husband Kelly of Buffalo, SD. Grandchildren: Bill Agee and wife Lola, Lorinda Mahaffey, Connie Agee, Tony Wylepski, Cosha Bechtold and husband Jason, Lucinda Olsen, Melissa Lindstrom and husband Josh, Bobbie Fossum and husband John, Elizabeth Olsen, Ethan Olsen, Jamie Britton and Callie Britton. Great Grand Children: Thad Agee, Matthew Agee, Amanda Agee, Lettie Agee, Kelly Martin and husband Joseph, Kenny Mahaffey and wife Monica, Andrew Wylepski, Coy Olsen, Ava Lindstrom, Colter Bechtold, Madalyn Bechtold, Owen Eslinger, and Roman Fossum. Great Great Grandchildren: Gavin, Emery, and Kyle Martin. Various Step Grandchildren and Step Great Grandchildren.
Alethe is also survived by nephew Dr. Gene Horrell and wife Linda, Niece Gail Prins and husband Jim, Cousins: Wilma Papka, Willard and Boylan and many other cousins and great great nieces and nephews.
Alethe was preceded in death by her parents and brother Stanely Horrell, her husband Roman Kuchera, Stepbrother Gene Corey, Son-in-law Bill Agee, Grandson Fred Mahaffey, Niece Wanda Stenick and various other relatives
