Obituary

Alden Wolfgram, 97, of Rhame, ND, passed away on January 19, 2022 at the Fallon County Medical Complex in Baker, MT.  Private family services will be held.

Alden was born on June 7, 1924 at the homestead of his parents John and Emma (Schultz) Wolfgram north of Rhame, ND.  He attended rural schools and Marmarth Public School.  Alden grew up in the sunset of the old west, hunting, trapping, riding horseback.  Sleeping under the stars and trailing cattle to the rail yards in Medora and Marmarth.  On June 27, 1953, Alden married Almeda Varney at her family home south of Rhame.  They lived and worked together on the Wolfgram Ranch for the next 68 years  together.  A daughter was born in 1958 and a son in 1960.  Alden enjoyed visiting, storytelling and sharing his love of the old west and its memorabilia.  He and Almeda attended many an auction sale and their collection filled his own small museum.  Alden and Almeda had a special bond; one that is rare to find today.  He will be forever remembered and missed by his best friend and the love of his life, Almeda.

Alden is survived by his wife, Almeda, children; John (Cindy) Wolfgram and Shem (Dwight) Iverson, grandchildren; Jay (Karen) Iverson, Randy (Stormy) Iverson and great grandchildren, Ava, Emma and Olivia Iverson, sisters and brother-in-law, Jean Buchholz, Vera Kruger and Kassie (Kermit) Kruger as well as many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.  Alden was preceded in death by his parents, John and Emma, infant sister, sister; Ethel Moore and her husband, Buster, brother; Norman Wolfgram and his wife Norma, as well as his nephew Lawrence Wolfgram, sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Jim and Iris Biggs and brothers-in-law Delbert Kruger and Larry Buchholz.
