Albert "Al" Hecker, 88, of Bowman, ND, passed away on March 16, 2020 at the Fallon County Medical Complex in Baker, MT. Funeral Services for Al will be on Friday, March 20, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Home Chapel in Bowman. Pastor Charles Johnson will officiate with burial to follow on Monday, March 23, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. CDST in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan ND.

Albert Joseph Hecker was born November 12, 1931 to Mike and Elisabeth (Friedt) Hecker in Dickinson, ND. He was the youngest of 11. Albert grew up a few miles north of Belfield, ND.

Albert went into the service on July 24, 1952. He went to Camp Gordon, GA, for Basic, then went overseas to Weisbaden, Germany. He was in the 4th Chemical Smoke Co. at Camp Pieri.

In July 1954 Albert was discharged. He married Audrey Marlene Borreson on December 11, 1954. To this marriage they had four daughters: Aubre Joy Hafele (Wayne); Karla Jo Vadner; Kimberly Buckley (Gary); and Marie Alane Schmitt (Gerold).

Albert and Audrey moved to Bowman in 1957, where Albert worked for Himebaugh Drilling Service until he got a job with the City of Bowman and was the Water Superintendent for over 30 years until retiring. In June 2016 Albert moved from Bowman into the Fallon Medical Complex in Baker, MT,.

Albert is survived by his daughters: Aubre, Karla, Kimberly and Marie; ten grandchildren: Chad Hafele, Charity Thomason, Bridget Greenwalt, Jerid Janikowski, Jamie Janikowski, Jody Boyd, Conner Folske, Mikala Wagner, Cody Wegner Kummer and Skylar Schmitt; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Mike and Elisabeth Hecker; his wife, Audrey; and one great-grandson, Kyler.
