There will be a Family and Friends Service on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the Krebsbach Funeral Home Chapel.Ada Berg was born January 3, 1924 in Rhame, ND to Herman and Edith Berg. Despite losing her mother to illness when Ada was 7, she spoke fondly of her childhood on the prairie with her 4 siblings and her stern but loving father who supported his family by operating a lignite coal mine north of Rhame. Ada often said that she and her sister Janice were the original "coal miner's daughters." Ada attended country school for 8 years then graduated from Rhame High School.
Ada married Norman Heinrich on November 14, 1942. Together they farmed and ranched and raised 4 kids in Slope County 18-miles northwest of Rhame. Her fresh baked bread was second to none and a pan of her sweet rolls rarely lasted more than a day.
They moved to Rhame in November 1968 where Ada was an active member of several clubs and organizations. She also served as the "Avon Lady" for over 20-years.
Ada loved to dance, she could carry a tune, hated losing at whist, pinochle, and cribbage and could bowl with the best of them. She was quick to smile and laugh and could make new friends in an instant.
Ada moved to Southwest HealthCare Services Long Term Care in 2012 where she met old friends and made new ones. She always spoke highly of the healthcare providers and the staff. Her sharp wit and her sometimes mischievous ways were a delight to those around her for her entire life.
Ada was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and a sister, her husband Norman and her eldest son Lawrence. She is survived by her son Mike (Myra) Grand Junction, CO; son Roger (Debi) Murfreesboro, TN; daughter Bonnie (Mark) Volk, Gillette, WY and daughter-in-law Sherryl Heinrich, Mesa AZ. 6 grandchildren: Carla (Mike) Simpson, Seattle, WA; Heidi (Doug) Glynn, Mesa, AZ; Chad (Samantha) Heinrich, Chandler, AZ; Josh (Sabrina) Heinrich, Murfreesboro, TN; Becky (Jeremy) Wulf, Gillette, WY and Tristan Volk, Denver, CO. 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren plus several nieces and nephews.
