Alvin Keith Ellingson, 81, of Scranton, ND died on Friday, April 30, 2010 at the WRRMC Hospital in Hettinger. Memorial Services for Keith will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Scranton with Pastor Mary Peterson officiating.

Keith Ellingson was born on October 12, 1928 on the family farm in Boyesen township the son of Albert and Margaret (Taylor) Ellingson. He was married to Vivian Dingfelder on October 12, 1954. They spent their lifetime farming, ranching and raising a family on the farm in Boyesen township. Keith served on the Boyesen township board, the Eden school board and the Union Prairie Church board. After retirement Keith and Vivian moved to Scranton where he continued to work for local farmers and the Scranton Equity fertilizer deparment.

Keith enjoyed woodworking, playing cards and a good conversation (or debate) over a cup of coffee. Any time that he could spend with his grandchildren or great grandchildren also brought him immense joy and he was very proud of all of them.

Keith is survived by children Kemp Ellingson of Rapid City, Boyd (Betty) Ellingson of rural Shadehill, SD and Margie (Mike) Yoder of Devils Lake, ND; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews that he was very fond of.

Keith was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian; his parents Albert and Margaret; his sister Frances and her husband Frank Palczewski; and daughter-in-law Deb.
