Clara Domagala was born on July 17, 1919 on the family farm in Amor Township southwest of Bowman, the daughter of John and Mary (Fiddler) Domagala. Clara was raised on the farm and received her education at the Amor School #1. As a young girl, Clara helped out with the daily duties of running a farm, and she also worked for the N.Y.A for $7 a month. In 1940, Clara was united in marriage to Martin Olsen in Baker, MT. After their marriage, they made their home in the Grand River Township where they raised their family; Ardyce, Punky, Larry, Martin Jr., Dean and Bobby. Clara was more then a mother on the farm. She helped with the daily chores from milking the cows to shucking the wheat. She was a wonderful mother, but also a very hard worker. In 1978, Martin and Clara retired from the farm and moved into Bowman where Clara was employed at the St. Luke’s Tri State Hospital. In January of 1979 Martin passed away. On July 28, 1981, Clara was united in marriage to Clarence Erickson in Bowman, ND. After their marriage Clarence and Clara made their home on the Erickson farm southwest of Bowman. Clarence’s family became Clara’s family. Joining Clara’s family with Clarence were his children; Curtis, Carol, Craig and Colin. Clarence and Clara enjoyed many things in their life together from driving around in the country, traveling, dancing at the Flagstone and more. They were very happy together and were always together. Clara also enjoyed crocheting many afgans for grandkids and table doily’s for her children. She enjoyed the challenge of putting together a puzzle, and working in her gardens. She was a wonderful cook. She felt it was very important to have a family dinner every Sunday where she would cook using the recipes in her mind. She wasn’t one who really needed to use a cookbook. Clara was a wonderful lady who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Clara loved her entire family very much. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren had a very special place in her heart. They were her pride and joy and she made sure that each time she saw one of them, they would leave with a dollar.
