Grace Aus, 95, of Bowman, ND,fomerly of Amidon, ND, died on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Southwest Healthcare Long Term Center in Bowman. Funeral Services for Grace will be Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Lebanon Lutheran Church, Amidon, ND, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Galen Strand and Pastor Charles Swanson officiating. Burial will follow at Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation for Grace will begin Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. in the Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Home chapel. Grace Margaret Homelvig was born on July 4, 1916, in East Sand Creek Township, Amidon, ND, to Albert and Andrina (Yttri) Homelvig. As a child, she attended Amidon School. She graduated from the high school in 1934. She then attended Capitol Commercial College in Bismarck, ND. Grace held several jobs throughout her years including employment at NYA, WPA, Westland Oil Company of Minot, ND, Selective Service in Amidon, ND and Triple A, also located in Amidon, ND. Grace met and married Wilmer Aus in Bowman, ND on November 24, 1951. They moved to a ranch west of Amidon where they raised four children, Gary, Susan, Sharon and Gordon. Grace and Wilmer sold the ranch in 2009 and moved to Bowman where she resided until her death. Grace was an active member of Lebanon Lutheran Church in Amidon and held the position of church treasurer from 1974 until her “retirement” in 2007. She was very involved in the ELCW where she also held the office of treasurer from 1974 until 2007. Grace belonged to a number of other organizations including the Amidon Homemakers Club, the American Legion Auxiliary in New England and the Prairie Senior Citizens in Amidon where she also served as the club’s treasurer. Grace had many hobbies including reading, doing crossword puzzles and needlework. She also greatly enjoyed her grandchildren and her great grandchildren whenever they came to visit her. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Andrina, her brothers Julius and Curtis Homelvig and her sisters Ardis Kyle and Dorothy Johnson. Surviving Grace is her husband, Wilmer, and her children Gary (Robin) Aus of Carson, ND, Susan (Buzz) Walradt of Bowman, ND, Sharon (Frank “Fuzz”) Schaff of Fargo, ND and Gordon (Karla)Aus of Plentywood, MT. She is also survived by her grandchildren Mandy (Chris) Brown, Sammy Reisenauer (Justin Peltier), Mandi (Dustin) Neely and Craig Aus and by her great grandchildren Keely Reisenauer and Ryder Neely.
